About three weeks have pasted since our last post. A lot has happended since then. The weekend of the 11th Sarah came to see us. We had a good time, it rained a lot so most of our time was spent at the house. Sarah and Maddie played a lot, Maddie was able to show her Aunt Sarah how she could sit up unsupported and play with her toys.

On Monday of the same week Mike had to go to Charlotte for a business meeting, so Maddie and I tagged along and stopped over in Pleasant Garden to visit with dad, Grama Mary and Wallace. We had a great time visiting and even had the opportunity to ride over to Quaker Lake and stroll around and check out the improvements they've made.

On Monday 20th, I took Maddie to the doctor for a congested cough. The doctor on call said her chest sounds fine, but still almost a week later she sounds just as horrible if not worse. She is sleeping on a tilted mattress with a Vicks Vaporizor in her room to help. She coughed so hard yesterday she threw up all over me. Anybody out there got any suggestions?

Other than that she weighs 17lbs 15oz now and is doing great.

The weather here is changing. This week the temperature stayed in the 50-69 range. The leaves on the few trees that do change are beautiful. We are looking forward to Thanksgiving and heading back West.

Fall is here!

Fall is in the air!  It is getting cooler here every day and it even smells like fall.  This weekend my mom came to visit for about 5 days.  We had a great time on Saturday when we headed to Jacksonville with my neighbors and their children to a pumpkin farm. While there we went on a hayride to the pumpkin field where we got to pick our own pumpkins.  We chose 3, a small one, a medium sized one, and large one.  Afterwards we weighed our pumpkins and then choose a few mums to go with.  There was an awesome bakery there, and I chose an apple jack. It was not nearly as good as my great grandmother and grandmother made though. On Sunday Mike's mom and stepfather came to visit.  We all went to the seafood festival in Morehead City.  This was like a local fall festival with seafood everywhere!  While there we had the most delicious Tomato Pie, and ate some really great BBQ Shrimp.   The best part of the festival however was when Mikes mom pointed out that Maddie has cut her 1st tooth!!!!! I almost cried right there on the street!Mike and I both had to work on Monday and Tuesday of course, but Maddie and her Nunny (Sheila) got to spend the whole 2 days together.  I am positive that they both had a great time.  Maddie even told me so on Monday when I heard her laugh out loud for the 1st time.  Mom and Mike had both heard this before, but she had been keeping her sweet little giggle a secret from me, and then right in the middle of Belks she let it loose for about 15 minutes.  Man it was FANTASTIC!I hope everyone likes the pictures, and I can't wait to see you all really soon!  Sarah B is coming this weekend, so stay posted for details of our adventures!

What a wonderful world it will be!
