Time is flying by...

Time seems to be flying by! Maddie is almost 2 weeks old. The minutes and hours on the clock seem to be going by at an accelerated pace, especially when trying to start a feeding schedule. It seems all we do is watch the clock, charting when she ate last, peed, and pooped last and setting alarms for the middle of the night feeding. But I am not complaining. I love it! This baby is fantastic! She is so beautiful, and sweet even when she is screaming her heart out.

I know I mentioned last post about our wonderful visitors and helpers. My mom was a blessing last week and then Sarah this weekend and then Suk this week. Michael and I have really needed and appreciated the extra set of hands, ears, eyes and hearts.

Today however Maddie and I got to fly solo for the first time, on a shopping trip to Walmart while Mike and Suk played golf. Maddie slept the entire trip which made for a easy experience. I however was nervous the entire time, especially in the car when Maddie was in the back seat all by herself for the first time. She made it to and from successfully though :)

Anyway enjoy the pics...

First doctors appointment.

Everything is still going good. Mike and I are getting some energy back and are getting used to deciphering cries and scheduling feedings. Went to the doctor today and Maddie is doing great he said. She weighs 8lb 8oz and is healthy in every aspect. We must be doing something right :)

Enjoy the photo of Daddy and his little girl, bonding. Isn't it great!

First Few Days

Well Maddie has been home for 3 days now. Everything is going great! We owe a big thanks to my mom who has been with us helping out. Also a thanks to my dad and grandmother who came on Saturday and Sunday to visit and help out. We will continue to have help over the next weeks when Sarah (my sis) and Suk (Mikes' mom)come to visit and my friend Sarah when she comes in July from St. Louis.

Michael has completely fallen in love with this little munchkin, I tell you what. I didn't know what to expect. I knew he would love her, but man. He can't stop gazing at her, kissing her a million times, and man what a great diaper changer and midnite feeder.

So far Maddie really just sleeps and eats a lot. I understand this is normal and I am trying to take advantage of this time to catch up around the house (I was in the hospital for a week) and just get use to having this little person around.

My memory is completely gone. It really feel as though the easiest task takes the most work. I wonder does this stage pass? And when? Perhaps I am really just trying to do to much. This blog might have been a little ambitious.... here are some pictures.

Emotional Renewal

Well, it seems that I have caught a second wind. Some folks say that's a "sign" that Maddie is on her way, but duh... I am closer to the end than the beginning so I don't think that statement can be validated in any way. My second wind isn't really physical, and it doesn't consist of me cleaning the house in any crazy manner (if you haven't been to my house I should tell you it is ALWAYS spotless)Rather I feel emotionally renewed. At the time of my last post I was hating life (not really, just being pregnant still), but over the last couple of days it seems that I have come back around. I owe it to the fact that I have stopped anticipating labor starting every minute and just waiting on it. How silly of me, to stress about something I have NO control over.

Anyway, I am 40 wks on Sunday and go to doctor on Monday for a check up. The doctors here will discuss induction at 41 wks not before, so I will keep you posted.

As of today I am enjoying my Saturday night sitting on the back porch with my other girls (the cats) watching them watch the birds at the feeders Mike put up this week. Mike had a few days off this week and really got busy outside. He pressure washed the house, redid the mulch in the flower beds, weed eated, trimmed the bushes and trees, even fertilized the yard. Everything looks fantastic! I think if anyone nested during this pregnancy it was him.

I will try to post some pics of his hard work tomorrow. The flower bed especially looks great!

Well hope everyone is doing great and I will be intouch.

Will it ever end?

So up until now pregnancy has been great! But now in my last 2 weeks I am finding myself asking myself almost every second, "will it ever end?" Physically I feel great, minus the 50lbs extra I am carrying. I have had little complaints besides that. But as the days pass I get more ready every second to be back to my old self. The last few selfish thoughts I will probably ever have, but I can't deny them.

I go back to the doctor on Tuesday for my 39 1/2 week check up. Please say a pray, do a dance, make a wish, whatever that Maddie arrives this week.

We are monetarily ready for her and as emotionally ready as we can be. There no turning back now! Mike and I are ready to get this show on the road! Thank you everybody for your support and love during this journey of our lives. We are looking forward to sharing Maddie with you soon!

The next time I post, expect to see pics of our beautiful little girl!

What a wonderful world it will be!
