Summers End

The summers is over in our house. School has started back and we are all adjusting to our new (old) schedules. We recently had a visit down to Fayetteville, to see the Wilkerson/Sines family. While there, we got to see Mikes brothers, sister, and mother, and our sister in law. We had a good time catching up with everyone, and Maddie had the best time playing with Ollie the neighbors dog!

Not much else going on right now. We are expecting a visit from Sarah and Mike Martin in early September, and are excited about that.

Baby #2 is doing well at 8 weeks gestational age. I am feeling fine physically, but having a hard time with hormones this go around. Happy one minute, sad the next, and possible irritated the next, hahahaha. Wish Mike luck!

The picture is of our great neighbors and Maddie being great helps cleaning the living room floor !

July was a busy month. Mike and I have both been working very hard, but have each had time to go our seperate ways for vacations with friends. Earlier in July Mike went with Matt and some friends (Tom and Dan) to Las Vegas for a boys trip. It seems as though they had fun gambling, seeing the sights, and catching a show.

Maddie and I just got home from St. Louis. We too, had a great trip. We visited with our friends, Sarah, Chip and Alex Duello. We got to go to a Cardinals baseball game and to the zoo. Best of all though we got to play with Sarah and Alex a lot!

Maddie is doing great. She is growing like a weed. She seems to get smarter each day!!!! She is playing all over the house and outside, and is quite the dare devil when it comes to exploring.

I am feeling great, and go to my first doctor visit on Friday. The nurses that I have seen up until this point say that the baby's due date is around April 4th. Since I had a Csection last time they will do one this time and will schedule it for a week prior to due date.

Stay tuned for more....

Tacos, Beach, and Pregnancy

So I made this delicious batch of soft tacos for dinner tonight and Maddie loved them and so did I.  These are low fat, high fiber, great for weight watchers folks.  9 servings, 5 pts. each

1lb of lean ground turkey
1 onion (chopped)
1 small can of carrots (chopped)
9 5inch whole wheat tortillas
taco seasoning
1 can refried beans
you can spice it up with chili's, etc.
1. Sautee onion in EVOO
2. Ground turkey, drain
3. Add Carrots and beans and taco seasoning
4. Cook  like you would regular taco meatThen scoop and roll in tortilla

Maddie loved them!!!!!Enjoy the pics of her eating dinner tonight and playing around with Mike in the kitchen. On Saturday, while my mom was here, Maddie broke her fear of the ocean. She not only loved playing in the wet sand, but eventually ventured down to the water and played a bit... with me close at hand. Also another bit of news... Mike and I are going to be having another baby! We are only about 5 weeks along at this point. But couldn't be more excited. Stay tuned for more info on Baby 2.

We're back!

Finally got our new computer and man is it great!!!! Since my last post in May a lot has happened. Most recently, though a congratulations is in order to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Martin. Thats right my sister Sarah got married on July 11th.

Maddie has been growing like a weed and is just about running around the house. We have finally invested in cabinet locks for the kitchen to keep her from playing with every pot and pan we have got. She now has 9 teeth, the front four on top and bottom and one molar coming in.

Mike has been working hard, trying to maintain and build sales at the store. And I have been working at Maddie's daycare this summer, working with the school age summer camp kids.

I promise to post more frequently from now on. I have kinda slacked off in the past months. I know that there are a lot of family and friends who check online to get updated pics of Maddie and us.

Where have we been?

Goodness, time has flown by and we have been into all kinds of stuff. Please keep checking for posts. We don't have a computer at the moment. Our mother board fried the other day. When we get our new one in the mail and set up next week I will update with pics and a few great stories.

We miss everyone, and keep checking us out! We will be back!

One and counting

Well, Its been awhile since my last post. Honestly I have been so busy and engrossed in the Twilight Saga that I haven't been doing much of anything but read these past couple of weeks. What a great group of books if you like to read!

Since the last post we have come home from San Deigo and celebrated Maddie's 1st birthday. The celebration was very small. She started the day off with her doctors appointment. She weighed in at 21 lbs 15 oz, and is 30 inches long. She did have another ear infection though, and is currently on antibotics to treat it. She will be having tubes put in May 27.

Later that day my mom was here and we went to Outback to eat dinner with Mike, and then headed home to eat cupcakes with the neighbors. All and all it was pretty low key.

Congratulations to Mike who just helped spear headed a fundraiser to raise $31000 for Friadriech's Ataxia. We were in Raleigh this past weekend with Outbackers from all over the state who came to participate in a 3k walk, which got rained out. But Mike the planner that he is, had a back up plan and all 250+ of us got to go bowling. It was a fun time! Mikes goal is to have NC and SC Outbacks to raise $500000 by November.

Swine Flu Paranoia

Oh My Gosh, Swine Flu Paranoia has set in! Hello from San Diego, where they have confirmed 4 cases so far...

Anyway all is well here. The weather is cool, with a temperature of about 62 degrees (cool moist air from off the Pacific.) Sunday was travel day, that ended with an Outback event of a boat ride around the Marina with lots of hourderves and drinks, followed by a late night run to downtown for hamburgers.

Today (Monday) Mike had meetings all day so I went downtown to the shopping plaza and a walk on the boardwalk around the marina... trying to keep my mind off Maddie.

Maddie is doing great with our friends the Fells. I bet she doesn't miss us nearly as much as we miss her.

Congratulations to Sarah Butt! Mike has given her beautiful ring today. She will be Sarah Miller before we know it. (Sept 5, 2009)

Well I will update blog when we get home. We are heading out on the trolley system tomorrow to sight see and take some pics.

Here are some pictures of Maddie that I thought were great in my missing her moments today. Man she is my little angel!!!

What a wonderful world it will be!
