Its a girl!

Well her she is! Wow! I was shocked. Anyone who has talked to me, will tell you I was for sure it was a boy. The technician said its a girl, and I was floored! I am so excited! Girly things! Pink! Purple! Flowers! Curls! What will Daddy do? He is already outnumbered at home with all girls (all our cats are female too.) Good thing he loves the ladies!

But really.... Everything is looking great the doctor says. The baby is healthy, I am doing good. Due date still stands for sometime between May 9-13, could be on Mothers Day....(May 11 this year) We'll see. Tune in for more as the world turns.

Pa's funeral

This weekend my grandfather passed away from multiple melanoma and leukemia. He was surrounded by family at the time of his passing at 8:15 on Thursday. The weekend was filled with love and remembrance as family and friends from all over celebrated his life. He will be remembered and loved by us all.

Just hanging out..

Hey Everybody! Haven't posted in a while, not much happening here. Mike and I have settled into the house, we only have 3 pictures to hang still. Work is going great. I just love the school were I am at the people are soooo nice and the students are great. Mike is working hard establishing himself and his restaurant. Business has be slow, since the bridge connecting historic downtown New Bern has been under construction. He is working hard, and has joined the chamber of commerce, etc. Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we are hosting at our house. We are expecting Mikes' parents and sister and my mom, I am doing most of the cooking. It ought to be interesting.

Mark your calendars, Dec. 6. Mike is making his first trip to the baby doctor with me, in hopes that we get to find out the sex of Baby W. I will keep you posted. Till then....

Man In Charge

Thursday was a great day for Michael! He went to his first partners meeting as a partner. At the meeting Michael had the great opportunity to talk in front of the group about the things he has been working on at the new store. For example in his first 2 months he has managed to work with the governors office and the DOT to get his store some signage on the highways entering New Bern. While at the meeting Michael also got a brand new sign to hand over the front door of his restaurant that reads " Michael Wilkerson Proprietor". How exciting!

Settling In

Well, we are slowly settling into the new place. The cats had a sleepless first night as did we (they meowed like crazy!). But since then we have all been fitting in just nicely. Mom was a huge help unpacking boxes, cleaning, and providing decorating tips. She also bought us a new vacuum cleaner as a house warming gift. Sarah came down on Friday with my Volvo and the girls went down to Atlantic Beach for a walk on the shore and some seafood at Captain Bill's. They went home today and this is my first day in town by myself (Mike is working). I am trying to finish unpacking boxes and cleaning up a bit. Check out the blog another day... I start my new job on Monday!

Philo Pride

Had my first baby shower/ goodbye party today! My great coworkers at Philo suprised me today with cake, icecream, and tons of baby gifts. I recieved all kinds of stuff like baby hangers, burp clothes, stuffed animals, onesises, a gift certificate to Babiesrus and an aweome little Peter Rabbit bowl, mug and money bank. (I love Peter Rabbit by the way!) It was really fun and a great way to end some great and unpredictable years working at Philo Middle School! Thanks Everybody! I won't forget you! Hey Dad "Here I Am!"

Here is the babys' first picture. See that smaller looking bean shaped object inside the darker hole ( with the dotted line going across) thats it! The doctor says I am 8 weeks and 6 days today, and my due date in May 9, 2008. Super exciting! I heard the heart beat at 171bmp, which the doctor says is perfect! She measured baby at about 1 inch long. Isn't the internet so exciting! Michael is in New Bern today, so I can share our first picture on the net. Shout out to the proud papa to be!
